This first in-depth study on the dance sector in the country will document the dance landscape of the UAE and will design a comprehensive picture of the dance sector’s history and current situation. It will provide an overview of traditional dances, existing genres and players of the field, analyse the ecosystems and infrastructure, and will serve as a tool for field development. The work will create a roadmap of history and current landscape of dance across the Emirates. The planned completion of the study is in December 2022.
As a part of this study, we are conducting a survey to get to know more about the life of a dance artist in the UAE. As a token of gratitude, we will enter all respondents who complete the survey into a drawing for a select number of prizes once the survey is closed. The prizes include a membership at The Arts Center, sustainable dance wear from The Idō Movement, tickets to a dance performance, dance classes at Sima Performing Arts and more.
